HURL Fat Ass 50K, 1/15, 9am, Helena
There’s no better way to exercise then to run in the crisp Montana winter! This 50km run will start and finish at 815 11th Ave in Helena. The track is a 31 mile loop with 2400 feet of ascent on frozen, snow packed or icy paved and dirt roads. Relay options include two person Half-Ass Relay and multi-person Skinny Ass Relay. Elite Professional Bullriders FINALS, 1/20-1/21, 7pm, Butte Civic Center
Are you in the mood for a truly unique event? Check out the Elite Professional Bullriders Finals in Butte, Montana on January 20 & 21, 2012. The stunning conclusion of the bull riding season will be held at the Butte Civic Center for a prize of $19,000 and the title of EPB Champion if the Year.
The finals will feature the top 35 riders in the Elite Professional Bullriders competing in a long and top ten short round each night. The Butte Depot will be serving drinks at the Finals as the main sponsor.
Tickets are tiered based on seating. Reserved tickets are $15 to $25. General admission is $12, Kids admission is free for kids 5 and younger, $8 for older kids. Young Frankenstein, 1/24, 8pm, Mother Lode Theatre
The new Mel Brooks musical Young Frankenstein is playing courtesy of the Butte Center for Performing Arts in January! It’s a great show, and the only place you’ll see a singing and dancing laboratory experiment in the largest tuxedo in the world. The play is a recreation of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks’s comedic musical masterpiece. The story is that of young genius Dr. Frankenstein (Fronkensteen, of course) who attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork in order to bring a corpse back to life. Tickets are $35 to $75 with ticket surcharges.
